Blue Weed is an ensemble of Italian musicians inspired by traditional and contemporary bluegrass music. Raised at the court of the two historic Italian bluegrass bands — Bluegrass Stuff and Red Wine — in 2022 they decided to start a new one, capable of expressing their own stylistic declination of the genre.

Blue Weed can perform as a duo/trio, with a repertoire that focuses on the tradition of the bluegrass duo of the seventies and eighties (especially Doc & Merle Watson and Tony Rice & Norman Blake), or as full band, with a repertoire that proposes the wide range of sounds and styles of bluegrass music from its origins to the present day.

Even the type of show can be adjusted, from a simple concert to a sung lesson that traces the social history of bluegrass and its interactions with the American music of the second half of the twentieth century. Furthermore, the components, who have years of in-depth study of their instruments behind them, are able to hold workshops at festivals and exhibitions.
